ACCRA, June 2 (Reuters) – A cargo jet slammed into a minibus at Ghana’s Accra airport on Saturday after overshooting the runway on landing, killing at least 10 people, according to a Reuters witness and an aviation official.
The plane belonged to Nigerian cargo airline Allied Air, according to a civil aviation authority official who asked not to be named. A Reuters witness at the airport said the plane had the words Allied Air on the side.
A badly mangled minibus was beside the plane wreckage, and ten bodies lay nearby, the witness said. Ambulances, police and military were at the scene, he said. (Reporting by Kwasi Kpodo; Writing by Richard Valdmanis; Editing by Robin Pomeroy)
Its been tears all round as we tagged sunday 3rd june as BLACK SUNDAY. Yet I couldnt help myself. When I read this article I laughed so hard. sigh.. its good to distract yourself from crying... here have a look:

NewsRescue- I am Carol Thomas. A 31 year old, black and beautiful bank branch manager in Brooklyn, New York. I make over $60,000 a year, which is a considerable income. I own my property and drive a 2004 BMW. I have a lot I am grateful for, but I know the one thing I do not have that seems to make it all worthless- a man.
I do not have a man to call my own. The guy who I go out with right now, I know I share him. Hopefully with only one other woman, but perhaps with many more. Will he marry me? I know he won’t. I have been sharing him for 4 years now and things are getting only worse.
Now don’t get me wrong, I did not settle for this, I have been going out, I go to meet-ups, I’m on Match.com, e-Harmony, I’ve tried it all, I even not just lowered my standards, I dumped them altogether. I’m not looking for a professional man, I’m now looking for a man, any man. But I just can’t find any black brother who is serious and wants a good wife.
Perhaps as some consolation, I am not alone in this, all my friends are in their early thirties, single and either frustrated or retired to a life of solitude. Some are single and serial-single mothers and others like me, childless and never married.

There are just no eligible black straight men!

NewsRescue- Media is abuzz with reports on the state of the Dana Airline that crashed in a residential area in Lagos, Nigeria killing all 153 aboard. There are numerous descriptions of a questioned state of the airline and similar incidents of Dana Airline landing problems.
CKN- Our investigation has shown that the crashed Dana Airline this afternoon was not air worthy. The ill-fated Dana plane had been under repair for several weeks and the airline’s station manager protested about its use but the Indian management and owners insisted it should fly.
The German stations are reporting that the plane which just crashed should never have taken off because of its write-off state and that its a miracle that the plane even made it to Lagos.
Our further investigation when we spoke to the husband of our of the victims of the accident, a director in the federal civil service told us that he flew the same aircraft from Lagos to Abuja two days ago and the situation and state of the aircraft was scary.
Our further investigation this evening showed that majority of the management team of Dana air who are Indians have taken the next available Emirate flights out of Nigeria to avoid investigation and prosecution.
It is yet to be seen how the NCAA management led by Engr Demuren will tackle this mess. The NCAA under him has seen a complete lack of competence on aviation matters and ought to have been show the way out for long but for the politic that characterized everything in Nigeria.
Further investigation on this crash is been carried as the aircraft blackbox has been recovered. WE SHOULD DRIVE ALL THESE PEOPLE AWAY FROM NIGERIA! THEY ARE CHEEP SLAVE DRIVERS WITH NO REMORSE OR REGARD FOR HUMAN LIVE. KICK EM ALL OUT! I ONLY HOPE THAT SOMEBODY PAYS FOR THIS LOSS!!!
THE renaming of the University of Lagos after the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, had continued to attract the condemnation of more Nigerians on Thursday.
Former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu; Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi; a member of the National Assembly, Gbenga Ashafa; Mohammed, son of the late legal giant Gani Fawehinmi; Abuja-based lawyer, David Agunbiade; a UNILAG lecturer, Prof. Lai Olurode; Osun State University lecturer, Prof. Siyan Oyeweso; and the leader of the Civil Society Coalition, Shehu Sani, rejected the renaming of UNILAG as Moshood Abiola University, asking the Federal Government to  reverse its decision.
In a statement, Tinubu contended that though the President’s decision to rename the university after Abiola was welcome, it fell short of what was required.

He said, “We must congratulate the President for attempting to do it, but we say-do it right. MKO was elected by the entire country not just by the Yoruba – he was arrested and taken to Abuja. He was tried, incarcerated and eventually died in very controversial circumstances in Abuja under the custody of federal agents. Abiola’s mandate was a national mandate which he tried to reclaim. But we must be careful not to localise or sectionalise MKO.”
Students of the University of Lagos on Thursday suspended the protest they embarked upon to protest the renaming of their university by President Goodluck Jonathan. President, on Tuesday, had renamed the institution after the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, the late Chief Moshood Abiola.
The students took the decision after deliberations on Thursday morning at a congress held in front of Jaja Hall of the institution.
Though they made it clear that the protest was suspended in honour of the late Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Tokunbo Sofoluwe, they vowed to continue the protest on Friday (today).
Consequently, the main gate was thrown wide open to enable dignitaries who came for last burial rites of Sofoluwe to enter the institution without let or hindrance.

Also the Third Mainland Bridge, which the protesting students had blocked on Tuesday, was open to traffic.
They also ensured that the burial programmes including the lying-in-state organised for Sofoluwe at the Sports Centre and the burial service at The All Saints Church, Montgomery Road, Yaba went without any untoward incident.

the speech read: ".....It is also in this regard that the Federal Government has decided that late Chief M.K.O. Abiola  be honoured, for making the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of justice and truth. Destiny and circumstances conspired to place upon his shoulders a historic burden, and he rose to the occasion with character and courage. He deserves recognition for his martyrdom, and public-spiritedness and for being the man of history that he was.  We need in our land, more men and women who will stand up to defend their beliefs, and whose example will further enrich our democracy. After very careful consideration, and

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Is this borderline sexual perversion or is it okay to use these sexual terms while trying to preach the word of God. Just curious. The guest speaker of the day by the way is an international model called Eefy. She models in NY and Italy and exposes quite a bit of body parts but if you also check her page on Facebook, she talks a lot about the Holy Ghost. So can we take her seriously? Does her profession affect us accepting her as a minister of God? Thoughts please.
